In Literacy we have been playing with word blends to form our spelling words and used these in our grammar tasks. We have loved guided reading this term where we get to listen to audio books and respond to questions about the texts. As well as organising information into headings to create information texts.

We have also discovered so much about animals; did you know that Koala's sleep for around 18-20 hours a day! .... Sounds like we have some catching up to do in the school holidays.

All of our learning in science about animals, habitats and animal features took us on an excursion to the Adelaide Zoo to see some of the animals we have studied in class. We were amazed and enjoyed exploring to spot the animals we all studied. Seeing many of these animals in real life supported informed writing back in class when we created information reports.

We spent a whole week attending Noarlunga Swimming Center each day for a lesson to focus on water safety, we learnt so much and braved the cold winds for a great week.

We were also lucky enough to have an African Drumming workshop come to our school and teach us techniques; we loved watching our teachers be silly up on stage and enjoyed having a go at keeping a rhythm when playing in a big group on the drums.

We look forward to another busy term of learning in term 3.
