5/6RP & 5/6SW

27.09.19

Our term kicked off with the Year 6 immersion day to Cardijn College. The Year 6’s spent the day in the surroundings of other high school students and teachers. They attended a STEM lesson as well as a PE lesson, led by Cardijn staff. The students found the day an extremely valuable taste of high school.

During Science week, students welcomed family members into our unit for the open morning. Stemming from our topic of Earth science, the 5/6’s experimented with stable structures in an earthquake scenario. Using Jelly, match sticks and marshmallows, students were able to construct and test how these structures would survive an earthquake simulation.

The entire senior unit also travelled to the parklands on Greenhill Road for the Catholic schools touch football carnival. It was a very wet and windy day upon arrival but the students were super resilient and just excited to get started. Our school demonstrated fantastic team work and school spirit throughout the entire day.
