Only enter the office building or grounds if essential. Parents can come still come to the office if necessary (only I family at a time).

Social Distancing and Hygiene

Our social distancing and care for each other has meant that our state is doing really well and schools can return to face to face learning and full attendance in Term 2. Some of the other restrictions will soon be lifted and jobs and businesses will return to a more usual operational mode. This can only happen if we all practise the physical distancing as well as good hygiene protocols.

Our cleaner, Mrs O’Grady scrupulously cleans the school each night. Staff at the school clean their work areas every day paying particular attention to surfaces, doorknobs and handles as well as phones and counters.

Each classroom has hand sanitiser and children are reminded constantly about hand washing. We have soap products in all of our toilets and classroom sinks. WE ARE SO CLEAN and the school smells great!

Our Learning Plan is getting back to “normal”:

  • Return to face to face teaching
  • Those students not at school, will be provided with some direction / work - Daily SeeSaw check in required
  • Parents keeping children at home will be required to provide structure and support
  • Allied Health workers OT / Speech Therapists can recommence coming to school with consent from the child’s parents

  • Instrumental tutors resuming their program with parental consent
  • Extra Cleaning Maintained
  • Parents - appropriate social distancing and controls remain in place (not to enter school grounds)
  • Playgroup – available online
  • Term 2 Activities - Until we are notified, we will continue to have no whole school events, eg Assemblies, Whole School Masses, excursions etc.
  • School AGM postponed until further notice

As you can see, we are returning to some usual practices at St. Johns.  This has been very difficult for all of you and I send my deep appreciation for your on going support, the care and flexibility of staff and the calmness and positivity of the children. Let us, however, not forget those families who have been impacted so cruelly by this virus; those losing businesses, employment, wage reductions and our grandparents, extended families who have suffered through the isolation from those they love. Please also remember that if you have been affected financially, we are offering full school fee remissions for this term. Please ring Lee-Anne Clark for details of the application process.

Stage One Building

Stage one buliding works are progressing smoothly and you may have noticed we have frame work that has gone up.In the next few weeks the walls will be built. Currently Partek are on track to complete the building end of July begining of August.

While Easter seems like forever ago, we are still celebrating the Easter Season of hope and a God who is always present to us. We pray for all our families and families around the world that they will feel that sense of belonging, hope and comfort from a God who is ever present and steadfast. May all those who strive to help others and to bring comfort and a sense of hope to people, be kept safe and well in their work and in their family life. We pray for strong, just and ethical leadership from those in positions of trust and influence. We give thanks for the children and the community of St john the Apostle School.

Stay happy & healthy
